The Yeomanry Regiments of the Territorial Force (TF) and the Special Reserve in 1914

In 1908 the cavalry of the TF was formed from the then existing Imperial Yeomanry. The designation Imperial was dropped.

As there was no TF in Ireland, the two Irish regiments were transferred to the Special Reserve. In 1913, King’s Edward Horse was also transferred to the Special Reserve.

The list below shows the regiments at the start of the Great War plus The Welsh Horse and the 3rd Scottish Horse, which were raised shortly after.
