The Regular Infantry Regiments of the British Indian Army

From the Reorganisation of 1824 to the Mutiny

In 1824 the two battalion structure was abandoned and all battalions became independent numbered regiments. The next years saw only a few changes, but the Great Mutiny in 1857 all but destroyed the Bengal Army.
