3^rd Canadian Infantry Regiment

For the invasion of Japan a Commonwealth Corps was proposed. Canada would contribute a division. It was to be organised and equiped on U.S. Army lines. Thus instead of brigades it would consist of regiments. The 1^st Canadian Infantry Regiment, 2^nd Canadian Infantry Regiment and 3^rd Canadian Infantry Regiment were thus tactical units and not regiments in the British style.
