Canada

2nd Canadian Infantry Regiment

For the invasion of Japan a Commonwealth Corps was proposed. Canada would contribute a division. It was to be organised and equiped on U.S. Army lines. Thus instead of brigades it would consist of regiments. The 1st Canadian Infantry Regiment, 2nd Canadian Infantry Regiment and 3rd Canadian Infantry Regiment were thus tactical units and not regiments in the British style.
