In 1899 the Royal Artillery was split into the Royal Field Artillery and the Royal Garrison Artillery. The Artillery Militia was incorporated in the latter.

In 1902 the three divison system was abolished and the designations of the Corps were changed. The titles of these 33 units were valid until the reorganisation of 1908.

As a trial there was one new Artillery Militia regiment created as Field Artillery.
